When I met Maria, I was working 4 part time jobs with no insurance and going to school full time. She was then the Import Manager for DHL; that was 12 years ago. After 2 separate interviews, DHL scheduled a 3rd interview with Maria and her manager, Ron. That day would change my life completely.

For the first few years our relationship was strictly business. DHL was my first corporate job, and while I was very motivated, the fact remained that at 29 years old, this was my first office job. She has a wealth of knowledge and a desire to share it. I decided to put my fear aside and allowed our professional relationship to grow. Over time, Maria became one of my closest friends.

Maria is a very special individual and I am so grateful that our lives crossed. She is the smartest person I have ever met. She is strong and beautiful and she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. I have learned from Maria that you, and only you, can prevent your dreams from coming true. Nothing is too big, or too small, or too complicated. You have to be willing to work for it, but your possibilities are endless. Maria taught me that.

In closing, Maria is a role model to all women. I know she is my role model. If you have the opportunity to meet her, don’t let her go. She will give you so much and she will change your life. I know she has changed mine.
